How to get to (and around) Washington, DC.

By plane
The closest airport is National Airport (DCA), and the hotel is a short cab ride from there. Dulles International Airport (IAD) is somewhat further, 30-40 minutes away in Virginia. From there you can rent a car, or use one of the many shuttle services (like Washington Flyer or SuperShuttle). Finally, you can fly into Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI), which is about an hour away in Baltimore, Maryland. From there, you can rent a car or take Amtrak or the Maryland commuter train (MARC) into Union Station, where you can get a cab.

By train
Take Amtrak to Union Station. From there you can get a cab to the hotel.

By car
If you'd like to drive, Mapblast gives the most accurate online directions in the DC area. Additional directions from within Washington DC to the Watergate are forthcoming.

By Metro
You may tell already that I advocate the use of cabs to get to the Watergate. This is because, although Metro is great for getting around DC, it's not the best choice for getting you to the front door of the Watergate Hotel. If you do want to take Metro, the closest station is Foggy Bottom, on the Orange and Blue Line. I highly suggest a cab from here, but if you wish to walk, go to H street, turn right and walk down H to Virginia Ave. Turn right on Virginia Ave. and take it to the Watergate Hotel. It will be on the right.
