We officially got engaged on April 28, 2002. We had discussed the topic of marriage a few times, but we had not made anything official. Then one night, we were just laying around talking and Lynne turned to Adam and said "For real, will you marry me?" He said "Yes... what do you mean 'for real?'" and Lynne said "Like I know we've talked about it but you know, for real. You know I write proposals for a living."

Yes, she actually said that.

As it turned out, Adam had been making plans all along, and insisted that it was a logistics issue. Lynne said that she used to be a logistics specialist and could probably help him out there. Then things just got silly. It took us a while to tell all of our relatives but we finally finished doing that and then announced it to our friends on May 19.

In June, Adam and Lynne were going on a trip to the Poconos. The night before they left, Adam asked Lynne to go look for his keys in the car, and there sitting there where the keys should have been was a pretty white box. Of course, Lynne didn't get it at first and said "nope. nothing there.... oh, was that for me?" Adam had gotten for Lynne a gorgeous sapphire and diamond ring. (She got him a really cool Seiko watch, in case you're wondering)
