If you're planning to be in Washington, DC for the weekend, there is no better time to take in some of the most exciting sights!
If you're staying at the Watergate, you will be right across the street from The Kennedy Center, where you can see a show during the day on Saturday or at night on Friday. Or just walk over to have a look at the building itself, which is a memorial to John F. Kennedy and boasts one of the longest rooms in the United States.
Washington is well known for its museums, but the most recent one, the International Spy Museum is probably one of the most interesting.
For more traditional museum going, check out the Mall--not the one with stores, the one with the Museums!
For more general information about what's going on in DC, check out the Washington Post or the Washington DC Official Tourism Site, where you can search by date for DC's goings on.
And if you need to know how to get around, check out Metro. (If you're coming from New York or London, this will seem like a breeze.)
