Lynne currently lives in Northern Virginia and works as a proposal writer for a Government contractor. When she's not busy working as a writer, she also runs a Mary Kay business. She is your typical tomboy-princess combination, and equally loves going hiking in the woods and spending an evening at the Kennedy Center. She loves science fiction, ballroom dancing, cooking, movies, good music, and Yankee baseball.
Adam is an aerospace engineer currently attending U.S. Naval Test Pilot School in Patuxent River, Maryland. He also enjoys both indoor and outdoor activities, but he is an Orioles fan, and adamantly not a Yankee fan.
One day in February 2001, Lynne posted an ad to one-and-only.com, and Adam answered it. Lynne then ignored his message until he replied with a much funnier one. See, initially she didn't think she could get involved with an Orioles fan. But she replied, and they went on their first date on March 16, 2001--Sushi at Asahi, followed by Guinness at Fado and dessert at 701.
She then didn't speak or write to him for almost eight months.
Then the world got turned upside down on September 11, and she decided to write to everyone she ever knew, even people who might not ever want to speak to her again. Adam answered her email, and they got back together on November 17, just over eight months after their first date. They went hiking on a six-hour hike on the White Oak Canyon Trail, came down the mountain for barbeque, went to see Monsters,Inc., and went back up the mountain to watch the Leonid meteor shower. They arrived back in Northern VA the next morning at 6 a.m. and their lives have never been the same.
